TV PRESENTING WORKSHOP

Let's be crystal clear...I NEVER wanted to be a TV presenter running my very own show. My humble story will amaze you and allow you the opportunity if you have a desire to build a following.
So how did I do it? How did I become a TV Talk Show Host … and more importantly, how can you do it, too – WITHOUT any experience or a broadcast journalism education?

** Bonus! You will have the opportunity to record a short piece to camera to take away to add to your portfolio.
Workshop ‘hosts’ will also have the benefit of a session with a professional hair and make-up artist who will work with you to perfect your on camera “look”

Duration 3 hours – The experience
Today’s session will include:

Understanding your motivation to be a guest presenter.
The three types of presenter options available (Panel – Couch – on location)
What does a 30-minute variety TV program look like.
The structure of programming a 30-minute show.
Equipment needed.
The cost of creating a show from concept to viewing.
Overview of Pre and post production requirements.
Uncovering your niche.
Creating your very own 3 min panel segment (in groups of 3, with a topic of your choosing).
Presenting your panel discussion filmed ‘LIVE’ in front of your peers. (timed)
Reviewing your segment for feedback.
Goals and activity to prepare for the next week.
Duration 3 hours – The Interview
Today’s session will include:
Quick review on lessons learned in the last module.
Camera presence and interviewing techniques.
Presenting, engaging and conversing during a couch style interview.
Questioning techniques – The art of being curious.
How to prepare your guest for the camera.
Creating your very own 3 min ‘couch’ segment (prepared as your planning activity last week).
Presenting your couch segment filmed ‘LIVE’ in front of your peers.
Reviewing your segment for feedback.
Goals and activity to prepare for the next week. (autocue introduction, on location or high table segment)
**NB the on location segment will be conducted at the studio in front of the green screen.
Duration 3 hours – Your professional introduction.
Today’s session will include:
Quick review on lessons learned in the last module.
Learning to read off an autocue.
Presenting your 45 second intro as a PTC
Delivering your 60 second PITCH about your business
Voice control
Intros and outros.
Hair and makeup.
What to wear.
Planning and developing your very own 7 min ‘on location or high table bar’ segment (prepared as your planning activity last week).
Reviewing your segment for feedback.
Goals and activity to prepare for the next week. (Bring along your friends and family to watch you present live for a full dress rehearsal. It’s time to impress the judges).
Duration 4 hours – Live filming in front of an audience
Today’s session will include:
Getting ready for the big event – breathing, meditating and relaxation visuals
(This is it, we are shooting in front of a LIVE studio audience)
Duration 3 hours – Setting up the camera and set, ready for production
Today’s session will include:
Quick review on lessons learned in the last module.
- Setting up a green screen
- Post production work with Adobe After effects and Premier Pro
- Using a 4 point lighting system to light the talent
- Setting the Audio, white balance, exposure and focus
- Overview of Premier Pro and After Effects for post production
