Gerald Pauschmann - Facilitator (The Presentation Coach)
If you haven't struck oil in 7 minutes, STOP boring
I want to extend an invitation to some of your team who may be struggling with being confident when speaking in public.
This course entails the understanding of communicating effectively and delivering key messages in a concise and logical way.
To better communicate you must first understand yourself, your own communication with others, as well as the education and training skills to complete this goal.
We will build a foundation of communication skills which will include the study of communication processes, language, listening, perception and nonverbal communication, then implement these concepts into the way we speak in public
The course is highly interactive and consists of case studies, stories and of course, practical applications in both audio and visual presentations
The course is broken into two major sections: Communication Skills and Public Speaking.
For those of you a little more apprehensive than others, I want you all to know that this workshop is not about making you nervous and forcing you to stand in front of people while they stare at you!
This workshop is about learning how to become a better communicator in your personal and professional life, AND how to become a better public speaker.
I like to work in an environment of relaxation, calmness, and most of all fun. There is no reason to be scared, and if you do, I will give you tips on how to manage your anxiety.
Really...there is nothing to be afraid of! I work with every individual in order for you to successfully get up in front of the camera and deliver a memorable speech this course.
Workbooks can be emailed to you or in hard copy
Copies of your presentation will be handed over to you
All presentation slides will be made available
Communications are at the very heart of all business activity. So it is essential that people in a company assess such practices to ensure they are working well. Effective communications help to create a direction and basis for everyone's activities.
According to the communication theorist Wilbur Schramm (1955), communication 'is the process of establishing a commonness or oneness of thought between a sender and a receiver'. In other words, it helps employees to work towards the same goals, giving them a similar direction and purpose. In doing so, effective communications help to create a direction and basis for everyone's activities, especially when presenting to a group.
When we fear public speaking or are required to give a speech you may ask yourself why is public speaking important?Believe it or not but public speaking is one of the most important skills you will ever develop in your life.
Public speaking is so important that it could be the deciding factor in many things such as your career development, your business growth and even in the relationships you have with your friends and family. Public speaking is a skill worth learning
Public speaking will help you increase your self confidence dramatically. We live in a materialistic society and you can’t avoid that. A lot of our self worth and self esteem is gained by our perceptions of what we think other people think about us.
If you own a business or do some form of work on the side public speaking is one of the best ways to generate sales. Understanding how to effectively get your message (and the emotions tied to that message) across to another person can help you generate more sales for your company.
Probably 90% of people will avoid speaking up in a given situation…and probably even more people avoid public speaking. By having the confidence and ability to speak in public you can differentiate yourself in the workforce. This could put you in line for the next promotion or keep your head off the chopping block when the next redundancy rolls around.
